MEGA ARTS TWEETUP!

OK, this is our first ever tweetup.  But we kind of think it’s going to be big.  It will  sort of be like a “show and tell” for ANYONE doing ANYTHING creative.  What’s “creative”?  You decide.  We will have tables for you to “show off” your “stuff”.  (It’s all about networking baby!) If you let us know ahead of time what you will be displaying we will happily call you a “PARTNER”!  If you want to give away free stuff (food, service, item, etc….) One of the marks of a great leader is that they never stop learning and developing themselves.  NSAA CEO, Sheri Bestor, has always had a passion for continuing education as well as “embracing the new”.   Within the past several years, she has discovered a new appreciation for yoga and alternative healing methods which have helped bring balance to her busy lifestyle as NSAA CEO, Musical Producer/Director, wife and mother of three girls. 

Her professional learning experiences include earning a MA in Curriculum and Instruction, a BS degree in Education, founding North Shore Academy of the Arts, working as a business consultant, a teacher, and becoming a published author and freelance writer.

Sheri recently followed her passion for learning and completed her 200 hours for the Yoga training program.  In addition, she has become certified in meditation. She has become a Reiki MA and a student of Unified Body Method ™ as founded by Erik B. Knuth and sound healing.  She is currently assisting as a contributing writer in the development of the upcoming Unified Body ™ Teacher Training Program.

Sheri will be teaching some yoga classes for adults and teens at Get Centered in Thiensville during the month of July.  Get Centered has been just one of the business friendships that has contributed to NSAA. 

Sheri’s mission is: 

“to teach from my heart through experience, as I share this practice that has had such a profound effect in my life, so that it might inspire others to seek, learn, awaken and discover,while embodying life in all its beauty and joy.”

Our 3rd Annual NSAA Showcase Event was a large success and well attended event.  As many as 50 of our finest performers entertained our audience for several ”high energy” hours.  It was an extravaganza of dancers, singers, musicians, and artists.  Much thanks to NSAA Dance Department Director, Kathleen Fictum, for birthing and directing such a great HIGH QUALITY event!

Our Visual Arts Department has some exciting news!  Due to a series of grant money, we will be able to bring two exciting visual arts events to the Southeastern WI area. 

Our Midwest photographic arts event SATURATION received a generous grant from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Mary L. Nohl Fund.    

ARTIST IN MOTION, held at the Bayshore Town Center throughout the summer is supported in part by a grant from the WI ARTS BOARD with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. 

North Shore Academy of the Arts is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that serves all ages in the visual, literary, and performing arts.  We are an affiliate member of the United Performing Arts Fund and have been serving southeast WI for a decade.
