TWO NSAA Stagekids Land Lead Roles in First Stage "Junie B."

jo ellen gray photoNSAA would like to congratulate “Mari” (pictured above right) and “Nick” (below center) for landing lead roles in the First Stage Production “Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business – THE MUSICAL!” opening this month and running through mid-November.   Both were leads in NSAA Stagekids Productions High School Musical and Willy Wonka.  Mari received private vocal training with an NSAA voice instructor.

Saturday, October 17th at 3:30 PM

Sunday, October 25th at 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM

Sunday, November 1st at 1:00 PM & 3:30 PM

Sunday, November 8th at 1:00 PM & 3:30 PM

Saturday, November 14th at 1:00 PM & 3:30 PM

(There are many, MANY more daytime/school group weekday matinee performances, as well.) Tickets are available at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts (PAC Box Office, downtown); OR – on the firststage.org website. (There are TWO young actor casts, so be sure to refer to the dates above.)

Meet NSAA Dance Dept. Director

FICTUM Kathleen Fictum graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2008, earning her Bachelor of the Arts-Dance Degree with in the Peck School of the Arts.   Since 2003 she has been instructing & choreographing dance for schools, studios and dance/cheer teams in the greater Milwaukee area. Her repertoire includes ballet, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, hip hop, break dancing, dance team, partnering and aerobics. In 2004 UW-Milwaukee noted her talent and hired her to instruct aerobic dance as a freshman. Her passion to choreograph and teach has also expanded into musical theatre, having co-directed and choreographed High School Musical I & II, Bye Bye Birdie, Annie, Willy Wonka, and many others.

Currently Kathleen is the NSAA dance department director, head musical choreographer, and head coach of Ozaukee Elite.  She also sits as president of  8 Count: Professional Dance Instruction & Choreography, expert instructor and dance competition judge for HYPE Cheer & Dance Inc, lead instructor for Performing Arts Spring Grove, IL, and as the head coach of the Nicolet High School Dance Team and the Illinois Velocity All-Stars.

High School Musical 2 Auditions are coming up!

For those who are already preregistered, High School Musical 2 Auditions are coming up!  (*please note we are not accepting anymore enrollments…ALL CASTS ARE FULL).  Our most recent rehearsal schedule can be viewed online on the CALENDAR page.  Check it out for audition times, show dates, rehearsal schedule, etc….

Please refer to the yellow or red parent packet that you received at registration for details about auditions.  If you would like help with prepping for your audition, there will be 3 “Audition Prep” classes held at NSAA:

9-11am on 9/5, 1-3pm on 9/5, and 4-6pm on 9/6.  Please note that you must currently be enrolled in the production and you must preregister for this workshop in advance.
