Stagekids Alumni Gets Hired to Act at Fireside Dinner Theater

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

12 year old Mequon resident and NSAA Stagekids Alumni, Mari Duckler, is rapidly becoming well known throughout SE Wisconsin as a highly skilled young actress. She recently landed a professional acting position at the Fireside Dinner Theater in Fort Atkinson, WI. Mari will be the lead supporting role, “Pepper” in the Fireside’s upcoming production of Annie. The Fireside Dinner Theater attracts national audiences as a professional theater each year.

Mari first came to NSAA as a 9 year old seeking private vocal instruction with vocal coach, Angela Mack. From there, she auditioned for the NSAA Stagekids Production of High School Musical and was surprisingly cast as the lead role of “Sharpay Evans”. She was also “Lily St. Regis” (Annie) and “Phineous Trout” (Willy Wonka) through NSAA Stagekids.

Since then, Mari has performed at Homestead High School Auditorium, Range Line Auditorium, Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, Marcus Center for the Performing Arts and has appeared in the film, “The Bully”.

Quite spectacular about Mari’s experience is that she was recently cast as the highly competitive and lead role “Junie B.” (Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business) at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.

Mari will also soon be performing as “Ady” in Miss Nelson is Missing at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.  She is currently taking private tap/ballet at NSAA with Miss Kathleen Fictum so that she is a “triple threat” to the world of musical theater.

Mari dreams of performing on Broadway someday.  At this rate, she just might!  Keep your eye on this petite and spunky soprano belter!

Modeling Opportunities Through NSAA

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

NSAA is proud to collaborate with Je Suis Talent, Inc. to bring unique opportunities to aspiring youth and teen models.   Don’t miss this great opportunity for fall!
Email Stephanie Brown stephanie@jesuistalent.com the beautiful Channel 58 News Anchorwoman and enthusiastic Je Suis CEO and Modeling Coach.   She would be happy to answer your questions, discuss your concerns or even meet with you prior to committing. Over 20 youth and teen models were able to put on a fashion show at Bayshore Town Center on August 14 thanks to Je Suis.  Boston Store adorned the girls with make up and clothes.  Regis Hair gave them the best “back to school”  hair designs.  Other stores such as dELiA’s, Aeropostale, New York & Company, GAP Kids, Children’s Place, J.Jill and more provided the models with great back to school fashions to show off.

Long Time NSAA Performer Heads Off To New York!

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Becca Hare began with NSAA when she was kindergarten age.  Her role was a munchkin in the Wizard of Oz.  Many years later and many MANY shows later she was the lead in Seussical, Aladdin, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Wizard of Oz and more!

Becca will soon be going off to college in New York to major in music and minor in theatre.  We think this is a fabulous fit for a FABULOUS girl!

One of the things that NSAA appreciates about Becca is that she works so well with people.  You will find her smiling most of the time.  You will find her helping somebody A LOT of the time.  Becca is a great role model for many of our young students.  She has been willing to mentor them as a volunteer as well as help around the NSAA facility over the years.  Becca is a giver.  And we are confident that whatever she learns in New York she will give an abundance back to society.

Becca Hare will be giving a voice recital on Saturday August 14 from 1 to 5 at Newcastle Place in MequonWe suggest that you go see her now before she gets too famous…….:)

Catering the Arts to Your Location

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Perhaps you may not know that North Shore Academy of the Arts (NSAA) expands far beyond the reach of our Grafton facility.  Our instructors have been traveling to other cities for quite some time to bring PREMIER ARTS ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMING in the visual, performing and literary arts.

NSAA has brought fine visual and performing arts programming to Bayshore Town Center in Bayshore.  Our Stagekids directors have been traveling to the Hartford Schauer Center for several seasons putting on high quality productions.  Our instructors have taught music and drama in Pre-K facilities in Mequon and Germantown.   Our performers have performed in Cedarburg, Mequon and Bayshore for various key events.  We have gone into public  schools to present assemblies and have fulfilled the need for arts enrichment in a private Milwaukee high school.   We have worked with Nicolet and Homestead high schools.

With the 10 year anniversary of NSAA, we expect to continue expanding to fulfill the need for high quality arts programming in Wisconsin.  We are excited to launch our 2010-11 season.  If you would like for us to join you at your facility, in your community, on site at your location please email info@northshoreacademyofthearts.org  attn: Sheri or Paula to discuss your specific arts needs.  For more on CATERING THE ARTS grab a brochure!

We are only weeks away from the first shovel hitting the ground for our Outdoor Classroom in Memory of Felix Boller!

We invite YOU to make your mark on this project by helping us raise the remaining funds through purchasing a brick (three sizes available: $50, $100, or $300) which can be engraved with the wording of your choice – making your personal mark – forever.  The bricks will be permanently installed in the brick patio area.  Buy a brick for yourself, your family or your company, give it as a gift or use it to honor a loved one.
