NSAA Program Director and Arts Mill Director Shines With Awards

(Grafton, WI) Italian native, NSAA Program Director and Arts Mill Director Paula D. Christensen is keeping very busy as always. Not just with her directing duties at the NSAA and NSAA Arts Mill but doing that which she loves the most….making art.

Paula was recently awarded a blue ribbon for her oil painting at the Cedarburg Cultural Center Ozaukee Art Exhibit. She was also awarded two guitars to paint by the the Grafton Arts Board. Her designs will soon be hanging in the heart of Grafton’s Paramount Plaza. In addition, she was juried into the exhibit “Drawing the Line” at Gallery 224 in Port Washington. The Village of Shorewood recently commissioned her to paint a large heart for their public art event, “I Love Shorewood”. Her work is shining everywhere bringing beauty to the community and warming the eyes of the viewers.

NSAA Dance Department Announces Summer Classes for ages 2 to 18

The North Shore Academy of the Arts (NSAA) has a top notch Dance Department for a wide variety of ages. Levels range from beginners to advanced with some competing in competitions. NSAA has just released its Summer 2012 Programs, Classes & Events containing classes in the visual, literary and performing arts for all ages. This summer, the NSAA Dance Department will be offering:

Ballet Princesses Dance Camp for the potty trained

Hip Hop-Level: MTV (Intermediate/Advanced) ages 14 and up

Hip Hop-Level: Commercial (Beginning) ages 14 and up

Ballerina Superstars ages 5-7

Ballet & Lyrical (Intermediate/Advanced) ages 12-16

Jazzista Rock Stars ages 6-9

Jazz it Up ages 12 and up

Private Dance Lessons for ages 6 and up

Animals on the Move ages 4-6

Premier Dance Company Professional Performing & Competitive Dance Company ages 10-18

Mommy and Me ages 2-3

Stomping Out Rhythms ages 5-7

WANTED: “Just For Gleeks”!

NSAA will be launching “Just For Gleeks” this fall!

Target age: middle school through ADULT
Need we say more? You LOVE the show GLEE! So “Don’t Stop Believing!” Express yourself with like-minded performers! Learn techniques to improve your vocal skills and create a “total package” performance. We will take our “fandom” to local venues and upload our video creations to YouTube!

NSAA Launches “Buy-a-Brick, Build-a-Classroom” to build OUTDOOR ART STUDIO

We are only weeks away from the first shovel hitting the ground for our Outdoor Classroom in Memory of Felix Boller!

In the past several months thanks to the kind generosity of many individuals and organizations we have raised over $6,000 in cash and materials. We are getting closer to reaching our goal of $8,750. Thank you!!!

We invite YOU to make your mark on this project by helping us raise the remaining funds through purchasing a brick (three sizes available: $50, $100, or $300) which can be engraved with the wording of your choice – making your personal mark – forever. The bricks will be permanently installed in the brick patio area. Buy a brick for yourself, your family or your company, give it as a gift or use it to honor a loved one.
